How are commercial gummy molds filled?
Commercial gummy molds can be filled in different ways depending on formulation, equipment and production scale. In pour-and-scrape or flood-and-scrape workflows, warm gummy mixture is distributed across a multi-cavity silicone mold so many cavities can be filled during the same production step. Depositor-based systems instead meter individual shots into cavities through nozzles.
For either approach, choose the mold around the finished gummy rather than shape alone. Cavity volume affects piece size, cavity count affects output per cycle, and overall mold format affects handling and equipment compatibility.
What affects gummy mold filling performance?
Working temperature, formulation viscosity, cavity geometry, mold flatness, sheet dimensions and filling method all influence how consistently a mold can be filled. Producers using automated or semi-automated depositing equipment should also verify tray dimensions, nozzle spacing, shot volume and mold alignment before ordering production quantities.
